The ohoya Heliostat Base is an autonomous outdoor device that redirects real sunlight precisely into your home — to your desk, to your plants, onto the terrace or into dark rooms. High-precision stepper motors and astronomical sun-position calculation track the sun all day long and hold a soft patch of daylight exactly at your chosen spot — fully autonomous, no internet connection, no account.

What is a heliostat?

A heliostat is a sun-tracking mirror system. The ohoya Heliostat combines this millennia-old principle with modern sensing and fully local control: it reflects real sunlight and redirects it precisely to any spot you choose — no bundling, no heat concentration, just natural, full-spectrum daylight. No manual adjustment, no cloud, no account required.

Privacy by design

The ohoya Heliostat Base has no camera — none at all. Setup and target selection are done conveniently via augmented reality in the smartphone app; the device itself works fully locally. An additional thermal sensor sits on the front of the device. No video stream, no cloud, no data leaves the device.

• Moving parts: do not reach into the mechanism during operation — pinch hazard at the motors.
• Reflected sunlight: do not look directly into the reflected light beam. Brief glare can occur under unfavourable alignment.
• Electrical safety: operate only with a specified 15 V USB-C PD power adapter (power supply not included). Do not open, puncture, or expose the LiFePO4 battery to heat.
• Weather resistance (IP65): suitable for permanent outdoor use, but not for underwater use or explosive atmospheres.

How it works

1. You pay the €49 reservation fee today.
2. We inform you as soon as series production starts.
3. You then decide freely whether you want to buy.
4. When you buy, your reservation fee is fully credited.
5. If you decide not to buy, the fee is fully refunded.

What am I buying with the Pre-Launch Deal?
You are booking a reservation, not yet a heliostat. The fee is fully credited toward the later purchase or refunded anytime on request.

Is this already a purchase contract?
No. A purchase contract is only formed when you actively buy at series launch.

What happens to the €49?
The fee is credited 100% toward the later purchase price. If you change your mind, you get it back.

When will it ship?
We plan to deliver the Pre-Launch-Deal reservations in the first half of 2027 — after completion of the safety certification (including EN 62471). We only ship once certification is complete. As the product is in its pre-series phase, dates may shift — your reservation fee remains fully refundable at any time. Shipping starts in Germany and the EU; other countries will follow once the respective approvals are in place (US after FCC certification).

What is the difference between Base and Bundle?
Base is the entry point for targeted sunlight at your favourite spot. The Bundle additionally includes the Pro Module with the Smart Diffusion Mirror for soft, steplessly adjustable area light — and permanently unlocks all premium features of the app (including unlimited targets and schedules; voice control via Alexa, with Apple Home & Google Home in preparation).

Do I need a cloud or an account?
No. Control runs fully locally — no forced cloud, no account, no internet connection.
